In a couple of weeks (now is the end of March), winter will be over and spring will start and so will our gardening. However, I just want to remind you not to start too early or else your plants are going to get frozen. Experts say that the middle of April or the beginning of May is the perfect time to start gardening. Of course, that is subjective to where you live but as guidance, a 50 degrees ground temperature indicates a go. Below that, the frost will stop the plants from growing.

Plowing is the first thing you will do. You can do this by yourself (prepare the equipments needed for plowing such as a tiller) or you can hire someone else to do it for you. Make sure that you negotiate the price with the person at a number that you can afford. Plowing is necessary since it will remove things and other plants that will make your plants can not grow well such as rocks and weeds. Decide what you will plant. Plants that your family likes are good options. Or, if you plant more plants you can sell the rest or give them to your neighbor.

To loosen up the dirt and make it ready for planting, you need to water the plot of land well. You also need good fertilizer (you can use natural fertilizer for this). To spread the fertilizer, you can use a tiller. After that, you need to water the dirt again and leave it for a few days to let the land becomes fertile and ready to be planted. Next is planting. Read the instruction on the seed’s package so you can plant it well.

Make enough space between plants so that they won’t be choking each other. After all seeds are planted, you can start watering them. The evening is the perfect time for you to do it. Never water your plant when the sun is up on your head no matter how dry your plants look because it will definitely kill them. Watch out for weeds as they will also grow along with your plants. Just pull them out when you see any. If everything goes well, you will soon get your reward by harvesting your vegetables.
