The term back to nature has become a popular trend nowadays. More and more people are more concern about what they eat. They have started to eat something that might be contaminated with chemicals. This can be seen on the mushrooming grocery stores that sell organic vegetables and fruits.

Actually, we don’t have to buy the organic fruits and vegetables. Besides being expensive, the vegetables and fruits can’t be guaranteed that they are really organic since we don’t how they are growth. One alternative is to plant your own vegetables and there are some good reasons why you should do organic gardening.

Natural fertilizer is cheap and, in fact, we can create the fertilizer ourselves. Garden and kitchen waste would be good raw materials to make the organic fertilizer. Although you might need more time and energy than if you are using ready to used chemical-based fertilizer, by making natural fertilizer, your garbage bin would not be that full anymore.

Organic fertilizer is friendlier to us and also to our environment. Foods that are grown using chemical pesticides and fertilizers are likely to have substances that can cause dangerous disease such as cancer. And our children will consume the substances along with the food which in the long run could give our children disasters. This could be avoided if we use natural fertilizers.

By using natural fertilizers, we are saving our precious top soils. Top soils are part of the earth that is needed for the plant to grow well since it contains all the substances the plants need to live. Organic farming will save the top soil from being washed away by erosion.

Organic fertilizer will also reduce your gardening cost. In fact, you can get them for free. You can also use other plants as additional plants to accompany your main crops. The companion plants will give you more products and they also will give your main crops additional protection against pests.
